My first day on the Camino, my 72nd birthday, dawned sunny and bright and was pronounced "Perfect" by my fellow veteran Pilgrim starting his 16th Camino. I choose the Route Napoleon the more difficult route to Roncesvalles and started out on what would prove to be a most difficult 10 hour day.
