Posting from my phone for the first time as I prepare to fly from Tampa to Spain leaving tomorrow evening to begin my Camino

Well it is now less than a week to the beginning of my Camino. I fly from Tampa, Florida on Friday the 29th of April and will begin in Saint Jean Pied de Port on the 2nd of May my 72nd birthday. Over the months of training I have become more and more interested in the Spiritual Camino and so I want to share with you the Pilgrims prayer posted here by James, a fellow pilgrim.

Just twenty days until departure for the Camino and over the past five months, while I have trained and prepared, recognition sneaked up on me. Not what you might think that he's too old to be doing this but rather the real and true reason I am doing this.
Some of you know that my mother was a devout Episcopalian and the organist for each church in each city that my father moved us to as he built his career. My brother, sister and I, as accolytes or choir members, accompanied Mom in her church duties. It was only after hours and miles on the local trails, that I came to realize that I was longing for that time...that spirituality. So I set forth not on an endurance test of my abilities at age 72 but in a quest for feeling long past.
